Assignment 1

Lesson 1 Exploring Photoshop allows users to quickly discover some of the new features in Photoshop CS5. In this lesson a panorama image is created from three images. The crop tool is used to eliminate transparent edges. The 3 images are flatted by merging the 3 layers into 1 layer. A second photo is dragged using the move tool to create the beach area and is faded into the panoramic image using a layer mask and the Gradient tool. The Spot Healing Brush tool is used to retouch the image by removing an unwanted surfer on the beach. The wake boarder image is taken from another photo by dragged to the panoramic image. Using the quick selection tool, and the new Refine Edge and Edge Detection features and Refine Radius tool are used to refine the selection around the hair. A layer mask is created from the selection from the Output To drop-down menu in the Output section of the Refine Edge dialog box. Two type layers are added, the opacity is set. The Free Transform feature is used to rotate the year type. Finally The Puppet Warp feature is used to make waves.
